People around the world campaigned with the hashtag #bringbackour girls. A campaign which hits over 2 billion tweets and the biggest social media fails in 2014. Most of the parents of the missing teens still harbor griefs, frustrations and a thin hope that their daughters will be rescued coming to 500 days after they were abducted at Chibok.
Co-ordinators, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili and Hadiza Bala Usman are planning a “Global Week of Action” to commemorate the tragedy of their abduction.
They said “we never envisaged that our girls would still not be rescued nearly 500 days after their abduction. We are extremely saddened as the 500- day mark approaches.
“However, in the last few weeks, we have had cause for a rekindled hope, our confidence boosted, and are more assured that sooner than later our girls shall return.
“This is as a result of some pragmatic steps our government has been taken recently: our president’s December 2015 deadline to have the terrorists decimated; what we see as the compliance by our military to annihilate the terrorists by November, and so on.
“We call on all to hold special prayers at their various places of worship this weekend. We encourage many more, who are empathetic to the cause of our #ChibokGirls in Nigeria, and around the world to join in this “Global Week of Action.”
“This Friday, August 21, 2015 marks the beginning of our “Global Week of Action” (GWA), themed, “500 Days On, Chibok Girls – Crying To Be Rescued, Never To Be Forgotten.”

In the past, we have seen revenge wife or girlfriend smash car windows, dashboards, speedometers, headlights, taillights or tires. Others go flood the rooms or destroy expensive furniture's and belongings. We have also seen cases of acid attack but not this one.
This case is different. Revenge crazy girlfriend gone too far- to set him on fire or kill him while asleep.
In a 30-second clip shared by Elite Daily, the man is seen fast asleep in a white bed wearing just underwear and a pair of high socks.
His girlfriend or wife, whose face cannot be seen, carefully and quietly removes the blanket that is partially covering him.
She then opens a bottle of nail polish remover and slowly pours some of the liquid over the groin area of his underwear.
With a long lighter, she sets the front of his underwear on fire. It only burns for about a second before her boyfriends jolts awake, screaming and batting at the flames.
'You cheating on me with my f***ing co-worker, you didn't think I was gonna find out?' she is heard saying as he rolls over and moans, holding his crotch.
'Get your s*** and get the f*** out,' she says, as he falls off the bed and stumbles off camera.
Not funny and not clever at all. The woman may face prosecution or criminal charges.
"We intend to ensure that before I leave the country, at least one local government area in Bauchi state is public-defecation free.
"We will also work in collaboration with the state government to boost water and sanitation towards the supply of adequate and portable drinking water.
"I will, therefore, want to appeal to the state government to pay its counterpart fund to enable us execute some of the projects," she said.

Be alert ladies and gentlemen, four bloggers have been killed this year alone in Bangladesh. Reports says a number of author, bloggers or writers are killed one after another. Blogger Neel was slaughtered in his flat in a building at North Gorhan around 1:45 PM, Khilgaon police officer in charge Mustafizur Rahman told BD News.
Two months later, secular blogger Ananta Bijoy Das was killed in Sylhet on busy streets, near the victims’ homes. These bloggers were critical about religious extremism and expressed their views freely in the Muslim-majority country.
Bangladesh has been witnessing several deaths of bloggers.
Blogger Roy was hacked to death in a similar manner near the Dhaka University premises on February 26.
In March, Washiqur Rahman, 27, was hacked to death by two men with knives and meat cleavers just outside his house as he headed to work at a travel agency in the capital, Dhaka.
Haider, an architect by profession, ran a blog that was instrumental in demanding trials for the perpetrators of the mass killings during the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, a move that was widely seen as aimed at radical Islamists.
