Liberians in trouble after man brings Ebola to Nigeria

Liberians in trouble after man brings Ebola to Nigeria

Nigeria confirms Liberian man died of Ebola in Lagos. Ebola caused the death of a Liberian national who died in quarantine in Lagos bringing the unwanted worst-ever outbreak of the virus to Africa's most populous country.

"The patient was subjected to thorough medical tests ... which confirmed the virus of Ebola," as the cause of death, Nigeria's Health Minister Onyebuchi Chukwu told journalists.

In recent weeks, the news for Ebola outbreak has spread among, Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leon and other west African nations. Now it has reached Nigeria. Worse, it has reached Lagos. This is a potential nightmare for Africa. If it gets going, most African countries are not equipped or staffed to keep it contained. Most people don't have access to a doctor, it may well be that they simply don't see a doctor unless they believe it life or death.

The Liberian man collapsed at the city’s airport displaying symptoms of the disease. The man worked and lived in Liberia where the disease is prevalent.
