Bring Back Our Girls Parents Dead

Bring Back Our Girls Parents Dead

April 15, 2014 DOZENS of heavily armed terrorists rolled into the sleepy little town Chibok in a convoy of trucks, buses and vans. They made their way to the girls’ boarding school at night.

The high school girls, asleep in their dormitory, awoke to disturbing gunfires. The attackers stormed the school, set it on fire, and, residents said several hundred terrified girls were hurried into the vehicles. The vehicles drove off and vanished.

The girls were kidnapped byBoko Haram, whose name in the Hausa language means “Western education is a sin.”

These girls, ages 15 to 18 both Christians and Muslims would never see their parents or loved ones again. 100 days past and still the girls have not been returned. #Bring Back Our Girls social media failed. The Nigerian government failed and kept quiet for the majority of the timelines. Foreign armed forces intervened and still no rescue.

The tragedy continues as seven of the kidnapped girls’ fathers were among over 50 bodies that were brought to a hospital in the area after an attack on the nearby village of Kautakari this month. Four more parents are said to have died from heart failure, high blood pressure and other illnesses many blame on the trauma sustained from this incident.

Community leader Pogo Bitrus has said, “one father of two of the girls kidnapped just went into a kind of coma and kept repeating the names of his daughters, until life left him.”
