Mariah Carey criticized for concerts in Angola, Nigeria and Africa

The single "All I Want For Christmas is You" by singer Mariah Carey has sold over one million copies in the UK. The classic Christmas hit song released in 1994 reached the record this week, with sales of 68,000 copies during 2013. The U.S. singer thanked her fans in the UK, "I just arrived in the U.S. after the Red Cross charity concert in Africa, "Carrey said as quoted by Digital Spy.

"I'm on my way home as she watched the snow in my NYC. Thank you my fans in England! Love, Mariah, xxxx. "All I Want For Christmas Is You" originally sold 306,000 and since then this song was always in the top 40 every year since 2007.

Take nothing away from her charity tour in Africa, Mariah Carey has been criticized for tours in Nigeria, Angola, and Africa for seducing oil moguls to raise more cash. She has also come in for fierce criticism for her performance fees in countries plagued by poverty. Mariah Carey performed on Sunday for the President of Angola and Human Rights Foundation says the President of Angola José Eduardo dos Santos, who has been in power since 1979 is "one of the worst violators of human rights in Africa."

The singer would be more than a million dollars richer thanks for the concert, which lasted two hours."Mariah Carey just can not seem to get enough money from dictators", reacted Thor Halvorssen, president of HRF. He refers to a concert that Mariah gave in 2009 for the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
